A Family Graham Update

Hi, hi, hiiii!! It’s certainly been a while since I’ve shared here on the site, and I’ve truly missed it.  After a bit of an unintentional hiatus, so many of you checked in with me (and RG!) to see how we are doing which was so lovely and appreciated.  So, I figured it was a good time to share a little Family Graham update.

I’m happy to report we’re doing really well.  Like most families we were hit with a lot of sicknesses over the winter; Norovirus, ear infections, colds, flus, RSV and a super fun case of strep throat for me!  Our longest stretch being illness free has been 2.5 weeks and those 17 days were glorious.  Now that spring is here I’m hopeful we’re though the worst of it!

Bea started grade 1 at a new school and is absolutely thriving. She’s working hard on reading and math and it’s incredible to see her progress.  She’s made wonderful friends, joined the cross country team and won a ribbon at her first meet. Her teacher’s comments on her report card brought me to tears, describing Bea as a kid who is always willing to help, who is a leader in the classroom and who is intentional about making everyone feel included.  We are endlessly proud of our big girl.

Marigold started preschool earlier this year at the same Montessori school Bea attended.  While it took a little time for her to adjust, she’s really settling in now. The school sends updates throughout the day, and I love seeing the pictures of her working with her pals. We’re dealing with some sleep issues and while I initially chalked it up to a sleep regression, my gut was telling me there was something more.  So, we took her to see her wonderful Paediatrician who is working with us to help sort things out for her.  Just before she turned 3 we potty trained Marigold using the Big Little Feelings Potty Learning modules.  We had great success using their system so if you’re looking to start potty training highly recommend it. I have to say I am wholeheartedly loving this age with Marigold. Toddlers are so perfectly ridiculous, aren’t they? She is never not talking or asking questions, she calls Fruit Loops “Fruit Booops” and calls her legs her “yegs” and part of me hopes that never changes.

Rg our bearded wonder, has been our rock over the last year, which at times, hasn’t been an easy one. He’s been my constant sounding board and cheerleader who always seems to know when to say “do you feel for a hug?” He’s most certainly the fun parent and I’m (mostly) ok with it.  The girls and are I are so lucky to have him.

As for me, I’m doing pretty great. I’m working on some projects that I’m looking forward to sharing with you and enjoying this time with my family.  I know so many of you have asked if I plan to return to TV and answer right now is: I’m just not sure. I’ve been offered some different opportunities and different and new feels exciting for me right now.  I’ve always been a person who likes change so I’m leaning into all the changes and possibilities that come with it.  I’ve been so fortunate to have the support of so many of you and the wonderful friends and family in my life. I’m forever thankful for your messages, encouragement and support. When life gets hard, people show you who they are.  And yes, some people (previously) in my life disappointed me.  But I’ve learned that itself is a gift; to truly know who is for you and who isn’t.  And overwhelmingly my true people have showed up in the biggest ways for me.  I really am the luckiest.

For all of you asking for my first-timers guide to Disney, I’m working on it now!  I’ll share in the coming days.

As always, thanks for being here.

Big Love,

Danielle
