The Family Graham Launches an Online Charity Auction for the Breakfast Club of Canada
Early on in this pandemic when we were all struggling to adapt and adjust Randall came home from a grocery trip lit up with an idea. He said to me that he wanted to commit to doing one good thing for someone every single day. He made good on that deal and I’ve watched him find new ways to show kindness, support and offer a helping hand.
His idea has now become a commitment for our family. So today I’m so excited to announce something that The Family Graham has been hard at work on over the past few months.
We know how tough this pandemic has hit Canadians. It has severely disrupted the health and wellness of communities, the economy and jobs. We know that families are struggling more than ever and we wanted to be able to give back in some way.
That’s why we have put together an ONLINE CHARITY AUCTION that will benefit the Breakfast Club of Canada with 30+ amazing items. The auction will run from Tuesday, October 20 @ 9am EST - Friday, October 23, 2020 @ 10pm EST (more details on the auction and items are below).
We know how fortunate and privileged we are to be able to provide for our children, and we know this isn’t the same for so many Canadians. A lot of families are faced with so many additional challenges due to COVID-19, and the Breakfast Club of Canada, and the kids that rely on their program, need more support than ever.
Did you know?
1 in 3 Canadian kids are going to school on an empty stomach. Now, more then ever, food insecurity is a growing issue.
Our goals through this auction are not only to raise much needed funds to help continue these programs, but to also raise awareness of the issue.
This school year, the Breakfast Club of Canada estimates over 2 million children in Canada will go to school on an empty stomach each morning. The organization collaborates with all stakeholders that contribute to children's health, nutrition and education to ensure that their programs are actually benefiting the children. They also have taken all the necessary steps to help children during school closures. Right now their focus is to continue to empower and support hundreds of communities with their school meal program regardless of the back to school model, whether at school or at home. Healthy eating habits are important factors in children’s well-being and health allowing them to better learn and thrive.
