Beanuts and Bolts (A Beatrix Update) Volume 2

It’s been 5 months since my first B&B and with all the changes going on in her little life along with so many of you kindly reaching out to see how she’s adjusting, I thought it was time for an update! If you’ve followed my insta stories, you know that Bea started pre-school last month.  She’s been at home until now and we would have kept her home until Jr. Kindergarten next year, but with her amazing Nanny (The Bea Keeper) going back to school in B.C. and with the new baby coming, we thought now would be a good time to get Bea assimilated to school life.

September Is The New January

Post- Labour Day weekend always feels like the start of a new year for me, more so than January 1st.   Fall is in the air, school starts up again and for those of who work in TV it marks the start of a new season.  With the fresh-start feeling of September I’m setting some intentions (I don’t really do resolutions) for the coming months.

Baby G2 Update

I am just over 18 weeks pregnant, which is almost halfway through this pregnancy, which is TOTALLY crazy.  My girlfriend warned me that this pregnancy would go much faster and because I’m already so busy with Bea, and was she right.

A Look Back At Our Wedding(s)

RG and I will be married 5 years on July 30th!  It’s been a wild ride filled with adventure, change and small bumps along the way.  I’m so proud of us as a team and the life we’re building as a family.  We’re different in a lot of ways; we have strengths and weaknesses that compliment each other. But on the big things we agree nine times out of ten. And that was especially evident when it came to planning our wedding.

You Asked, I Answered!

First of all, if I haven’t said it enough, I absolutely love engaging with all of you!  Your questions and comments and tips are always supportive and kind and so helpful.  And since I can’t always answer all of your questions via dm, I thought an “ask me anything” would be a fun way to answer what you want to know.  So here it goes!

Big Girl Bea Turns 3!

I know the years go by fast.  And kids grow up.  And babies don’t keep.  But I really can’t believe my sweet Bea is 3!  3 years ago I met her for the first time.  3 years ago she changed our whole world.  3 years ago I became a Mom to the sweetest, kindest most gentle (most of the time) little girl.  It’s so funny how many of the things people tell you about kids come true.  I was so excited for her to learn to walk and be able to talk.

The Family Graham is Growing!

Want to know who the first person we (ahem, RG) told we were going to have a baby?  BEA.  The morning we found out, he told our very chatty toddler a secret we needed to keep under wraps for months.  I highly recommend not doing this as toddlers loveeeee to tell all to anyone at any moment. I got home from work that day and she ran to the door and proclaimed “Mama I’m going to be a big sister!”

Annual Family Antiquing Adventure

Every year on the first weekend in June the fam takes a road trip to Midland, Michigan for their annual antique festival. It's one of my favourite weekends of the year.  The excitement of the treasures we could find.  The hotel pizza party.  Pool beers.  And of course, pro tips from Johnny's Good Junk.

Me? A Mom?

Disclaimer:  I am so very aware of how fortunate we are to have been able to have a baby.  It is never lost on me.  I know for so many people it is a heartbreaking struggle.  I’ve shared tears with some very close friends and family members during their very tough journeys.  I would never want to trigger any painful feelings for anyone reading this story of how Bea came to be…

To Post or Not to Post

The first time I was a part of a discussion surrounding a parent’s choice not to post pictures of their children, I remember being taken aback.  Not at their choice, but because this is something I’d never even considered.  It NEVER crossed my mind not to share the moments of my little’s life or the reasons why a parent would choose not to.  So I asked myself why this was something I felt so innately comfortable with.  Here’s where I landed.
